Privacy without theater.

NoBrandUSA works without accounts or advertising profiles. Still, to answer searches and protect the service against abuse, it processes a limited amount of technical data.

1. Overview

NoBrandUSA lets you search brands and products to help identify the owner and the country associated with the company or corporate group when that information is available.

The normal flow is simple: the app sends your query to the NoBrandUSA backend, the backend checks trademark registries, complementary product sources, and internal resolution rules, and the answer comes back to your device. Your personal history is stored locally in the app.

2. What we do not ask for

Account or registration
Name, email, or phone number
Precise location
Contacts or photos
Ad or analytics SDKs
Data sales

Key idea

The service does not use your data for advertising. It does use a backend to resolve queries, enforce anti-abuse limits, and receive feedback if you decide to send it. Without that backend, the app could not return cross-checked results.

3. Data we do process

Data Purpose How it is handled
Search text Answer your query Processed in the backend to build the result. Some technical responses may be cached.
Network IP Security and rate limiting HTTPS traffic carries it normally. Persistent rate limiting uses hashed client-derived keys.
Random installation identifier Protect the service and issue tokens The app stores it in Keychain and the backend may issue a signed token tied to that installation.
Local history Show previous searches Stored only on your device through SwiftData.
Optional feedback Review quality and wrong results If you send it, the service may receive your vote, reason, optional comment, result context, and pseudonymized technical metadata.

4. How queries work

1 Your device

You type or scan the brand.

2 NoBrandUSA backend

Resolves the query and enforces anti-abuse limits.

3 Sources and support services

  • Yes, there is an internal backend.
  • That backend is not used for advertising.
  • Your personal history remains local.
  • Ambiguous queries may rely on complementary sources or internal AI functions.

5. Local storage

History

Stored only on your device. You can delete it from the app or by uninstalling it.

Installation identifier

Generated per installation, stored in Keychain, and used to protect the service.

6. Retention and security

  • Persistent rate limiting entries based on hashes are kept for up to 48 hours.
  • Technical caches and some operational logs may remain longer if needed for operation, debugging, or abuse prevention.
  • If you send feedback, that record may be kept to review incorrect results and measure service quality.
  • Reasonable security measures are applied to minimize and protect processed data.
